<h2>About FidoPhoto | Dog Photographer York</h2>FidoPhoto began during the quiet, uncertain days of the COVID lockdowns.As the photographer behind Elwood Photography, I had spent years photographing people, weddings and families across Yorkshire. But when the world paused and events disappeared almost overnight, photography took on a very different shape. With lockdown restrictions allowing us to meet just one person outdoors, walks became the perfect opportunity to bring a camera along and experiment with something new. That’s when I started photographing dogs. What began as a simple way to get outside soon turned into something I absolutely loved. Dogs bring an energy and honesty to photography that you simply can’t stage. One moment they’re charging across a field, ears flying and tail wagging, and the next they’re sitting quietly beside their owner. Those genuine moments are what make outdoor dog photography so special. During this time our own dog, Wriggly, was a huge part of our lives. She had the kind of personality that filled every walk with laughter. When we sadly had to say goodbye to her, it reminded me just how short our time with our dogs can be. They’re not just pets – they’re family members, companions and part of our everyday stories. That experience helped shape the heart of FidoPhoto. Today, FidoPhoto specialises in natural, outdoor dog photography in York, North Yorkshire, Leeds and Hull, creating relaxed photo sessions that capture the unique character and personality of every dog. Whether it’s playful action shots, beautiful dog portraits, or relaxed moments with owners, each session is designed to celebrate the special bond between people and their dogs. While Wriggly may not be beside me on every walk anymore, I now have the privilege of borrowing other people’s dogs for a while—exploring Yorkshire’s beautiful countryside and capturing images that owners will treasure for years.
